Requests
Answer the families asking for a spot on a session their child's level does not let them book.
Do this
- Read the request: the child, the session, their level and the skills they are still working on.
- Press Approve to book them over the level gate.
- Or press Suggest assessment to ask the family to book a placement assessment first.
- Or pick a reason from the list and press Decline. The reason is what the family reads.
Each request
One card per request, oldest first: the child's name, the session and its time, their current level and what they are working towards.
Still working on names the skills that keep them below the session's level. A note from the parent is shown in quotes.
The child's level card is read for you, beside the request, so the decision is made looking at what the child can actually do.
Not assessed yet means nobody has given the child a level. A placement assessment is usually the fairer answer for them.
A coach sees requests for their own sessions. Owners, admins, directors and managers see them all.
Approve, assess or decline
Approve books the child over the gate. It is recorded as your decision, and the family is told. If the session is full, they join its waitlist.
Suggest assessment asks the family to book a placement assessment, which gives the child a starting level.
Decline needs a reason from the list, and that reason is what the family reads.
If the session cannot take them at all, perhaps full with no waitlist, or already started, nothing is booked and the request stays open.
Two people answering the same request at once is safe: the second is told "Someone already answered that one."
Common questions
Why is a request still here after I approved it?
The session could not take them: full with no waitlist, or already started. Nothing was booked, so the request stays open until a place frees up or you decline it.
Can I write my own reason for declining?
No. The reason is picked from the list, so a family always reads a short, kind reason rather than an argument.
Where do these requests come from?
A family whose child is below a session's level sees it greyed on their booking page, and presses Request a spot.
