⚡ Build my season
Turn a season's sign-ups into teams, placed players, a published schedule and practices, in one press.
Do this
- Read What it will do: the teams each age group gets, who is placed, the games and the practices.
- Choose how long A practice lasts.
- Press ⚡ Build my season.
- Read What was built, and any request the builder could not meet.
- More families signed up? Press it again. It never makes anything twice.
What it will do
Four lines, read before anything happens.
- Teams. How many teams each age group gets. A group that already has teams keeps them.
- Players. Everyone not on a team is placed: siblings together, a coach's child on their team, friends where it can.
- Games. The league's games, in the season's game times, published.
- Practices. One a week a team, in the practice times.
Anyone you placed by hand stays where they are. Families are told their child's team.
Only age groups with two teams or more get games. A group too small for two teams is said so on its line.
With no game times on the season, there is no schedule. With no practice times, coaches arrange their own. If the club has leagues switched off, it makes teams and practices only.
When it can't start
It needs three things, and says which is missing:
- the season's age groups
- at least one sign-up
- the Most players on a team, under The games on the season page
The Season page link beside the message takes you there.
What was built
After the press: how many teams were made, how many children were placed, how many games were published, and how many practices went on.
Any request the builder could not meet is listed underneath. Move anyone by hand from the age group's rosters.
If a step stopped, it says why. Everything before it is done. Fix the problem and press again, and it carries on from there.
If the press fails part-way (the connection drops, or it runs out of time), nothing is kept: no half-made teams or half a schedule. Press it again.
Games that could not be fitted are counted, and the league's Season schedule says why.
Common questions
Is it safe to press twice?
Yes. Teams already made are used, children already placed stay, and nothing is made twice. Press it again whenever more families sign up.
How long does it take?
Seconds, not minutes: a season of about 60 children, 8 teams and 40 games builds in well under half a minute. Stay on the page until What was built shows.
Why did a group get no games?
It has only one team, so there is nobody to play. Add a team, or join it with another group.
Who can use it?
Owners, admins and directors: whoever runs seasons.
