Sign-ups

See every sign-up by division, rate the players, and build balanced teams from a suggestion you can change.

Do this

  1. Give each child Your rating, and a keep-apart group for your strongest players if you like.
  2. Press Suggest teams for the ones not yet placed in a division.
  3. Read Suggested teams and What it could not do:.
  4. Change any child's team in the list.
  5. Press Place them. Each family is emailed which team.

The sign-ups

One table per division, with how many signed up out of any limit. Each row shows what the parent says, Your rating, the Evaluation, the child's level, requests, emergency contact, shirt and team.

Your rating is yours: families never see it.

When the season takes its fee at sign-up, a Fee column shows who has paid. An unpaid sign-up holds its place for a day from when it was made. After that it is marked place not held, and is not counted or suggested.

A parent who offered to coach or help is named under their child. Take back withdraws a sign-up not yet placed. Sign-ups taken back are folded at the bottom.

Rating and keeping apart

Choose Your rating from 1 to 5, and press Save. The suggestion and the draft use your rating first, then the evaluation, then the parent's.

Your best players should not end up together? Put them in Group A. The suggestion spreads a group across the teams, one to a team before any team gets two.

Group B and Group C work the same way, for the next tier. Not kept apart leaves a child out of every group.

Evaluation night

Holding an evaluation night? Press the button beside the Evaluation sheet link to give the division its evaluation numbers, for the bibs.

Send your coaches to the sheet. Each scores every child 1 to 5 and sees only their own scores. The Evaluation column shows each child's average.

Suggested teams

Press Suggest teams for the ones not yet placed. It balances the teams by level, and keeps siblings and requests together where it can.

Suggested teams shows each team's size, its girls and boys, and its average level. What it could not do: lists any request it could not meet.

Coaches go on their teams first, from the season page. Their own children then follow them onto those teams by themselves.

The suggestion fills no team past its roster size. A child with no team left with room is listed under what it could not do: add a team, raise a size or place them by hand.

A mixed-grade group's grades are spread across its teams. With school asked on the form, schools are spread too, unless the coaches page says kept together. No teams yet? Add them on the season page first.

Placing them

Change any child's team in the list, then press Place them. Nothing is saved until you do. Each family is emailed which team.

Changing a child's team says, under it, what that breaks: a brother or sister split, a friend left, not on their parent's team. Nothing stops you.

A late sign-up goes to a team with room, around those already placed. Taking a child off a team puts their sign-up back with those still to place.

Shirt order

Shown when the form asks for shirt sizes. It adds up the sizes by group and, once children are placed, by team. Not given is whom to ask.

Adding sign-ups yourself

Add a sign-up for a family is for a phone call or a paper form. Choose the child and group, and tick over the limit if the group is full. The family is told at once.

Sign-ups from a file takes a spreadsheet saved as CSV. Check it first, read what it found, then add them.

A file's first row names the columns: First name, Last name and Date of birth, and optionally a group, a skill, emergency details, a note, nights they can't make and a parent's email.

Each child must already be in the club. A row that matches no child, or two, says so and is not added. The family can take a sign-up back from their child's Teams page.

Common questions

Do families see my rating?

No. Your rating is private to the club. Families never see it, and neither do coaches in a draft.

Why does a division have no Suggest teams link?

Either everyone is placed, or it has no teams yet. Add its teams on the season page, then build them from here.

What does place not held mean?

The season takes its fee at sign-up, and this one went unpaid for a day. It no longer holds a place, and is left out of the counts and the suggestion.

Can I add a child after the sign-up dates?

Yes. Add a sign-up for a family is not bound by the dates, only by a Closed season.
